Get ready for a giggle - this site is all about fun.  You're not going to find any of the classic art featured in many of the previous reviews, but you are definitely going to be entertained.  Time spent with “The Momma” is pure escapism.
On February 14, 1996, the World Wide Web was blessed with the birth of Anonymomma’s World.  This site was among the first I came across when I initially gained access to the Internet and I recall being fascinated with the animated images, having absolutely no idea how these little wonders were created.  Purists would say they are superfluous, and for commercial sites, I might agree.  But here is where these little objects shine, and she has utilized them most appropriately.  Don't expect to be in and out of there in minutes as the site is huge.  Contests, awards, on-going tales, movie reviews, personal stories, humour, and a host of other topics you'll want to discover on your own are all housed within the pages.

Wanna Fool Around With The Mama? is a section that offers the Golden Lips reward for anyone creating a graphic based upon one of six images.  And its contributors are a veritable who's who from the past - Mary Broussard from the Widow's Web, Robin of Quiet Siren, Faith from Hey-You Productions, Dana from Dana's Designs, Ann-S-Thesia, Robin of Robin's Web, Abysinthe, Moyra of Moyra’s Web Jewels, Karen of Petal Perfect.  These were the “founders” of some of the first graphic sites, but many of them no longer have their pages on-line.  Sadly, those annoying “this domain is for sale” businesses have purchased many of their domains.  Those whose sites are still active are worth visiting for both their aesthetically pleasing pages, and their vast expertise, which they freely share.  I spent many hours that first year, reading their tutorials over and over, to pick up hints and tips on graphic design and web site building.  They were my starting point.

If you're more of a writer than an artist, you can win the Golden Bag Award by participating in Search For The Momma, an on-going narrative written by visitors to the site.  The last entry was in 1999 - definitely time for someone to submit a new chapter to the story.  Under Giggles and Guffaws you'll find truly unique items that are not your run-of-the-mill, heard-a-thousand-times jokes, stories, and writings of interest.  And then there is the Tasty Morsel Award, given to web authors who have piqued The Momma’s interest.

On the personal side, this former singer and pianist is now a professional web site designer, graphic artist, and member of The Digital Divas, a well-respected “network of the finest females that make magic on the Internet”.  The Momma has opened her home to Bengal cats and in Kimba’s Korner you'll find photos of these unusual animals, along with many comical feline anecdotes.  Don't know what a Bengal cat is?  There are many links to provide you with all the information you'll need.

Check under Hot Flashes, which is the section that holds her updates, for a number of really funny and unexpected ways to defeat telemarketers.  Read on for some even more useful ways of getting rid of all that junk mail arriving by regular post.  She could single-handedly have the answer to both of these annoying marketing ploys if we all began using her ideas.  The Momma is a bit of a pack-rat, too.  She can't bear to part with her past updates.  Definitely peruse what she calls Flashbacks and re-visit days gone by for a bit of a memory jolt.  Don't skip over the Hot Links page - they point to some really great web sites.

Each visit to Anonymomma’s World is like going home again.  In this day of “disposable everything”, she has become a staple of the Internet.  Her own unique brand of levity is a welcome respite from the tedious everyday.  Well done, Momma.  You are what the Internet was all about in the beginning … and what it should still strive to be today.
