| The
Widow's Web, created by Mary Broussard, has undergone several revisions
since this review was originally written. When I first visited the
site in February 1999, Mary had two charming paintings of dragons included
in the Fine Art Gallery - Baby's First Winter and TC's Baby Draco - but
in this fast paced, ever-changing world of the internet, they are no longer
there. The Bryce Poser Gallery has also disappeared. In their
place, she has added several new galleries. Now you will find a whole
section devoted to beautiful watercolors. The orchid paintings even
have their own gallery, now. Nomad's Fractal Gallery, a bright explosion
of color, holds a piece titled My Brain on Art that you really must look
at closely. Do you know what this art form is? It's a shape
that, when you look at a small part of it, has a similar (but not necessarily
identical) appearance to the full shape. They are computer generated
images based on mathematical formulas. For a detailed explanation
of what fractals are, visit THE
INFINITE
FRACTAL LOOP.
Nomad's Dinosaur Site will
provide you with more information than you ever thought possible regarding
these creatures. It's written in such a manner as to appeal to adults
as well as children and would make a terrific resource for their school
projects. "Travel back in time with the Nomad, back to the time in
earth's history when the planet was young and learn all about dinosaurs.
What was it like in the beginning I wonder..." -- Mary Broussard
Mary is the founder of
Web Prestige, a grass roots movement that was aimed at making the public
aware of how important it is to download graphics and music files to your
own web site, as opposed to linking directly to someone else's web site.
These pages have since disappeared from her site, but her message is still
just as valid today as it was when this review was first written.
The Widow's Web closed March
30, 2002.
