| You've
spent many hours wandering through the pages of the free graphics sites,
looking for just the right button or ornament for your web page and yet
you're still not completely satisfied with what you've found. You're
starting to think that just maybe, you could learn how to create your own.
But where do you start? And how much money and time are you going
to have to invest for what is purely a hobby? Very little, and with
no formal training, you will receive countless hours of enjoyment and satisfaction
from images you have created all by yourself. The following pages
are an on-line journal of my first attempts at learning a very user-friendly
graphics program - Paint Shop Pro. |
March
24, 1999 - This is the very first thing I created on March 13, 1999.
Okay, so it's not much, but it is mine and I did it all by myself. |
Second project. Experiment
with text tool and shadows. Obviously no concept of size. And
haven't yet discovered the anti-alias feature ... |
Balloons -- it's spring
and I'm trying out the shapes tool and highlighting. I just discovered
you can change the background colors. Which is good, because I seem
to be fixated on black right now. |
For some reason, I think
I can actually draw something. Have you ever tried drawing with a
mouse? And I found the filters ... now exactly what do they do and
how should I be using them? What is all this 16 million colors stuff?
Are there even that many in the real world?

| I learned how
to make a button. |

 |
And now, their logo. |
| Finally!
Something usable for the band's site. |
