Sometimes it's the littlest
things that make the biggest difference. The morning following a particularly
unpleasant work day, THIS
PICTURE arrived in my email. Often we
become so overwhelmed by circumstances totally beyond our control that
we start to doubt our own abilities. It takes a gentle reminder to
help us regain the confidence that momentarily slips away and to focus
on the truly important things in life. |

MY
LITTLE FRIEND - DJ.
Do you know what a 'favicon'
is? It's a custom icon displayed next to a web site in the Favorites
list of Internet Explorer. Usually, there's just the default Explorer
'e' appearing there. But you can change that. Try it out with
this site. Bookmark the page, right now, if you're using IE.
See how the default icon has been replaced by the silver globe from the
top of this page? Want to do that for your web site so that it stands
out in the list? Here are the instructions. Unfortunately,
this isn't supported in Netscape yet.
And just so that you don't
think I'm disparaging Netscape or am an avid IE fan, Explorer doesn't display
the colors of this site as accurately as Netscape. I build and browse,
using Netscape, but verify the pages in Explorer to ensure that they aren't
too out of whack when viewed with another browser. You can see a
distinct difference between the background color of the page and the image
on the opening page (and at the top of all the pages). Yet they are
both using the identical hex code - B4B4B4. In Netscape, it appears
virtually seamless, yet Explorer shows the edges dramatically. Go

This is absolutely dreadful.
I haven't had 10 minutes to update my own site. I have April, May,
June, and now July for which to prepare reviews. No, I haven't abandoned
my site ... I've just been building and maintaining others. Do you
know what takes up so much of the time? Not necessarily the building
of the pages, but primarily the business end of things. Search engines,
directories, ISP's, hosting, and then all the attendant email that goes
with that. Designing, re-designing, adding to ... well, here's what
I've been up to. (Don't worry, you won't get lost - each link opens
a new browser window.)
I swear, by the end of this
month, all the reviews will be ready and posted. I wonder if I'll
ever have time to do anymore tube paintings? |

Periodically, I re-visit
the sites featured here in the past to ensure that they are still on line
and to keep the information in the reviews current. On my last visit
to Bernadette Hurley's pages, I discovered that she had made some dramatic
changes to the whole site with quite a few new additions. The REVIEW
PAGE has now been updated.
I'm waiting to hear from
the owners of a couple of the web sites for which I've completed articles.
While the site owner does not contribute to what is written here, no review
is posted without his or her approval for the use of their images on the
page.
Here's a little tip for you
... did you know that if you 'right-click' on any link, it will open a
second browser window thereby keeping the one you were just viewing underneath
so that you can come back to it at any time? |

A short time ago, I was
contacted by a lady from MARIA
PIA'S DESIGNS. She had done a short
write-up on this site. Very odd, being on the other side ... the
reviewer gets reviewed. You'll find her article under Site Reviews
(in the first paragraph), then select Design from the left hand menu and
scroll down the alphabetical list to Masters Design. While you're
in there, take the time to look around at some of the other recommendations.
She really has amassed quite a collection! |
