June
1999 -- My first award. Presented by Ellen Stafford, a professional
site designer from Bath, England. It will always be my favorite,
because Ellen's opinion was the first I had sought outside of my little
circle of friends. In addition to Ellen's professional side, the
Webkin site was very likely the fore-runner of today's Blogs. Ellen
maintained an on-line diary, updated daily, when the internet was just
beginning to receive widespread exposure to the general public. |

June
1999 - presented by Bill Darling. Bill passed away on March 22, 2003.
He will live on through the many web masters upon whom he conferred The
Critical Mass Award. His words of encouragement were often the first
heard when newcomers were just beginning to build their pages. |
June 15, 1999 -- The above
graphic is not an award. It is the distinctive seal of The Phenomenal
Women of The Web presented to members upon acceptance into the organization.
As of March 2006, all divisions of The Phenomenal Women of The Web have
been closed |
June 25, 1999 -- Presented
by Maxine, of Loadstar's Lair. A gift from this New Zealand site
is something to be cherished because of the extremely high standards applied
to issuance of the awards. |
|
July 1999 -- Presented by
Ellie and Littlefoot, it's incredibly special to me because of my love
for cats. (And Littlefoot has to approve as well as her 'Mom'.)
This beautiful kitten was later the inspiration for a button set that I
created, using her picture.
August
1999 -- Presented by Melanie Ducote of
Backgrounds by Melanie.
A unique place to visit with beautiful backgrounds for your site and links
to everything you can imagine. (Update: October 2000 - Melanie's
site is no longer on-line.) |
